Laziness and Procrastination

What, exactly, is laziness? Is it the characteristics of not wanting to do anything and sit on the floor?

What, exactly, is procrastination? Is it the same as laziness, or is there a slight difference?

Whenever people call me lazy - I know it's pretty true - I prefer to use the term procrastinator. Unless they are accusing me of being lazy when I refuse to stand up and get something myself or put something back, then procrastinating works much better. Am I procrastinating on homework or am I just too lazy to do it?

Procrastinating means that you'll get to it eventually. Laziness does not necessarily mean that.

So um... the reason I wrote this was because I didn't want to do my science in the news homework....

Recap (of a lot of things)

So I haven't really been keeping up with this blog, for two main reasons.
1. I'm lazy
2. Homework

The reason I'm on here right now is probably actually because I'm procrastinating, but at least I finally got to downloading my pictures onto my computer so I can post some of them. :)

There's the tree that I promised to post a picture of a long time ago, but never did...

And a blurry sunset just because...

And some frozen yogurt from Yogurtland... from probably 4 months ago?

Either way, sorry for not keeping up; school is just getting busy and it's kind of hard to post every day. So I'll try, but if you get more of these random posts with weird pictures that are super old... well....

Socratic Seminars

They are the worst. You are limited to 5 times to talk and you have to share your ideas. And you are graded.

HOUSE OF HADES! (includes Spoilers, please be aware)

OHHHHHHHHMYGODS NEW SHIP NEW SHIP NEW SHIP NEW SHIP
And no, I'm not talking about an Argo III or something, I'm talking about something else involving Leo.

So in about the middle of the book, Leo gets catapulted (by means of Khione, a minor goddess) to Calypso's island, where he is meant to suffer forever. The beginning is quite funny actually, because the two cannot stand each other; Calypso is much more calm than Leo. However, as the time goes on, they warm up to each other and Calypso even assists Leo in some of his projects, in addition to making him some new clothes which matched those that he loved to wear before.

BAAAAASICALLY, CALEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :D

Now Leo isn't even (kinda) the odd one out on the prophecy/quest! And when he left Calypso's island he promised to come back for her even though it was against the rules.

Stupid Tests

And quizzes and stuff. Not going to say which teacher, but one of my teachers, not only hardly teaches, but also never explains the expectations so we all fail our homework. Oh yeah, and they also collect the homework, which makes it all so much worse.

Tomorrow on the test I'll be so screwed.

In my defense, yesterday at about 10 o' clock PM, we got a power outage which apparently lasted until 11 o' clock AM. Sooooooo...

Come again another day... actually, on second thought, no. Don't come again another day. Just leave. Please

On the bright side, only 18 more days until House of Hades comes out! :D
I should probably reread the series though because I kind of forgot everything... oops :P

Clouds In the Sky

Sorry for all the random pictures, I think I'll post a picture of a tree soon (random, I know, but it looks pretty) and maybe a picture of the moon because today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, a Chinese festival celebrated during a full moon or something.

Friday the 13th!... of September

Well of course, on Friday the 13th, I decide to walk out of a room and then hit my wrist on the doorknob. Of course. Especially the one with the ganglion cyst on it... >.<

Stupid Bus

Title says it all.
Well actually not really. The bus took about an hour to get to my stop, the SECOND stop. Basically, the bus situation was really screwed up because of all the people from sports coming on today.

Top 7 Reasons Why I Cried During Up

This does have spoilers so if you haven't watched the movie yet don't read it because then it'll just make you cry at the most unnecessary parts thinking about the sad parts... it's complicated...

7. On my second time watching the movie, when they showed all of the happy memories that Ellie and Carl created, I started bawling even before they showed the ultimate Ellie scene.

6. When Carl showed up for Russell's Wilderness Explorer patch meeting thing and gave him the grape soda pin.

5. THE GRAPE SODA PIN

4. When Russell said that Phyllis wasn't his mother.

3. Carl flipping through Ellie's Adventure Book and seeing all the memories she ended up putting in it.

2. Ummmm for those of you who watched this you probably know that Ellie passed away and left Carl alone to find a way to Paradise Falls.

1. And finally here's the part where I completely, totally lost it: when they showed that the Up house actually landed in the exact place next to Paradise Falls that Carl and Ellie had dreamed of. This was probably one of the saddest yet happiest moments of the movie because the sad part was that neither of them got to witness it or live next to Paradise Falls, but the happy part was that their dream came true.

Ugh I'm almost crying right now just thinking about that scene...

Either way if you haven't watched Up and read through all of these spoilers OR you only watched Up once or twice, I would suggest watching it again. It's such a good and timeless movie and I guarantee it will be worth it. :')

Nametags and Nametents and Icebreaker Games

Unless you're in elementary school (though I do know of some teachers who do these things) you have probably been forced to play a bingo icebreaker game or make a nametag for your class on the first day of school.

Really.

Bingo games are worse, in my opinion, because they just take place during class and require you to socialize. But my teacher's rules make it even worse. We were forced to shake hands (but nobody really did it... oops) and say some cheesy lines like "Hi, I'm (insert name here), and I'd like to get to know you better" and "Well it was nice reconnecting with you, (insert name here)!"

Oh man. That was a long period even for a Wednesday schedule.

Now come nametags. I think I only have two classes making me do these things, but they're pretty fun in my opinion. But that same teacher who made up all those crazy rules for icebreaker bingo also has requirements for our nametags. We have to include 4 different things from a sheet onto a little tiny piece of paper. Ugh. But I still like drawing and art and stuff so it is all okay. :P

I'll post a picture when I finish!

Almost Missed Today's!

Okay well today's blog post is going to be a rant. Since school started and all, I figured why not start the year off by talking about the new school rules and my schedule.

So the school rules have changed a lot since last year. I don't remember if 8th graders were required to have lockers last year but one good thing is that we are given the option to have one. I hated mine last year because it kept on jamming and everything fell out onto the person below me (sorry! :( ). But that's the single good thing about the rule changes. The lunchtime rules are absolutely ridiculous. For starters, we're required to raise our hands whenever we want to throw our trash away... we're just required to raise our hands whenever we want to do anything. Even use the bathroom. And get dismissed.

Now to talk about my schedule. As some of you may know, I play both flute and piano, and last year I put band at the very top of my list for electives. I guess the people in the office didn't see it or something because now I have orchestra instead of band. And frankly if I was put in orchestra and I had to stay there then I would just screw the whole orchestra over. That, or I would air-bow. :P

Sigh... and I was so excited for today...

Chinstrap Penguins

So a while ago (back in May) I did a painting of two chinstrap penguins with acrylic paint. It was for one of my friends who absolutely LOVES penguins, especially chinstrap penguins.

In the picture that I took of it, it's hard to see all of the parts that I whited out because I messed up and painted outside of the lines. I basically outlined everything in white paint because it was all so messy.

Well, happy labor day for everybody in the U.S.!

One Post Every Day in September?

I was thinking that this probably could happen... until about the middle of September because of school starting and homework and all that jazz. But let's see... 1 down, 29 to go! :P

Perry the Platypus!

So this summer I've been watching a lot of Phineas and Ferb (no, I am not too old for it) and I decided to draw a whole bunch of pictures of Perry. I don't even need an explanation. Perry is just so cute.

Like really. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I used Prismacolor colored pencils and Rose Art markers (they're not the best but they have pretty thin points and just the right colors for Perry so yeah... I don't use markers much so I don't have very good ones)

And then of course, Doofenshmirtz's line: CURSE YOU PERRY THE PLATYPUS!

Just a Random Doodle

I just got kind of bored so I decided to start drawing an eye... a very small one, that is...
And it expanded into adding an eyebrow... and a nose...

It's not very good and not well blended at all, but I used Crayola colored pencils which aren't the best for blending and stuff. The nose is waaaaaay too wide. Especially since it's not finished. Also the eyelashes look pretty strange in my opinion, and the eyebrow is super weird too but I didn't use a picture for reference, I just eyeballed that part.

I'm not punny.

Also for the red mark, sorry! It was me starting to draw something in red but I gave up on it and decided on an eye instead. I don't even actually remember what it was supposed to be. A flower, maybe? It will forever remain a mystery.

Water Lily Painting

First actual post! :D

So staying true to what I listed in the last post (which I can almost guarantee will fall apart in a few weeks), here is a picture that I painted last Thursday.

I used acrylic paints and a canvas that was 10*12 inches.

Just Spontaneous Stuff

I have a bad history of creating blogs and abandoning them, but I hope this won't happen with this blog, because it took a while to find a username that wasn't taken.

So I really will try to post random, spontaneous stuff every once in a while to keep this blog going.

Mainly what I'll post (I may be lying, this will probably change throughout the course of the blog):
- random artwork/sketches I've done at home
- pictures of pretty scenery
- sometimes, pictures of food
- rants for when I just need to vent my anger before taking it out on a pillow
- and, last but not least, but random text posts because random text posts are cool

I hope I don't actually completely forget about this blog and never post on it again (it's happened twice already) so...

Welcome to my blog, Just Spontaneous Stuff! :)
